NEXT JAMMIN' AT THE GEM Saturday, February 11, 2012 ROY AYERS MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR JAZZ N' DINE TOO!
WITH JESSICA CARE MOORE AND LOUIS REYES RIVERA
Vibraphonist/vocalist, Roy Ayers is among the best-known, most loved and respected jazz/R&B artists on the music-scene today.
Ayers, known as the Godfather of Neo-Soul, continues to bridge the gap between generations of music lovers. His music has continued to evolve with the times - in the 60’s he was an award-winning jazz vibraphonist, and then, transformed into a popular R&B band leader in the 70's/80's.
Today, the dynamic music man is an iconic figure still in great demand and whose music has influenced many industry heavyweights, including Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, 50 Cent, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac and Ice Cube. Ayers has also recently recorded with hip hop artist Talib Kweli (produced by Kanye West) and jazz/R&B singer Wil Downing.
Many of Ayers' songs, including: “Everybody Loves the Sunshine”,”Searchin”, and "Running Away” have been frequently sampled and remixed by DJ’s worldwide.

How You Can Support the American Jazz Museum
The American Jazz Museum appreciates all donations large and small that enable us to create new and diverse educational and public programming, and to bring world renowned musicians to 18th & Vine. The Museum’s largest current need is for general operating support. Additional needs include:
Support for performance expenses;
Endowment support;
Funds to update technology in permanent Museum exhibits;
Marketing funds for increased awareness of the Museum's programs
Please consider making a donation to the American Jazz Museum, and help us maintain the traditions of musical excellence that were established decades ago in this very neighborhood – the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District.
